Virtual Class with Live Instruction
Learn the basics of needlepoint painting in this two hour interactive class! With Molly's expert guidance, you'll learn fundamental techniques and skills as you craft your own stunning floral American flag canvas, designed by Molly. Whether you're a beginner or an intermediate painter, this class offers a welcoming environment for all skill levels to explore their artistic talents and create your very own canvas. The class is taught virtually via Zoom and is capped to ensure everyone has time to ask questions and engage. The virtual class will be recorded and emailed to participants.
Please note that while every painter is different, this is a challenging piece and you will most likely not finish within the alloted time. You will learn all techniques to confidently tackle it!
You'll cover:
-Supplies and tools for stitch painting
-How to read a chart and approach a canvas
-Design software basics
-Technique- counting, full coverage paint, detail painting, and more
The finished canvas measure 4.5 x 7 inches on 13 count, and is made to fit in an acrylic clutch, but would be an adorable tray or pillow!
Your class materials will be shipped to you at least one week before the class and include:
Blank 13 count mono-deluxe Zweigart canvas, with edges taped
Masking Tape
Paintbrush, sponges, and mini-applicator
Paint Palette
Acrylic Craft Paint (6 full size bottles)
Storage Pouch
Micron Pen
Custom Needleminder
Printed Chart, as well as a digital copy
You'll need to provide:
Tin foil or plastic disposable plate
Paper towels (1 or 2 to lay under your canvas)
Water cup
Good lighting
Laptop or Tablet to view class

About Molly
Molly Hurd is the lead needlepoint designer for Evergreen Needlepoint, and is currently pursuing her Master's in Counseling and Art Therapy at PennWest Edinboro University. With her background as an art teacher and summer camp counselor, Molly's career has cultivated her belief that art therapy can benefit individuals of all ages. As a consultant and designer for Evergreen Needlepoint, Molly has designed over 35 unique canvases and countless other pieces in multiple mediums. Her classes, designed for artists of all experience levels, empower individuals to explore their creative potential in needlepoint canvas design while learning proper technique (plus have fun!).
